Li‐Ion Batteries: A Fluorination Method for Improving Cation‐Disordered Rocksalt Cathode Performance (Adv. Energy Mater. 35/2020)
Source abstract
Abstract
In article number 2001671, Guoying Chen and co-workers developed a new method to introduce partial fluorine substitution into the oxygen anion sublattice of lithium-rich cation-disordered rocksalts. This results in enhanced redox processes of both transition-metal cations and oxygen anions, enabling more reversible lithium extraction and insertion. Advanced lithium-ion battery cathode materials with significantly improved performance were obtained.
