Abstract

The cover image representing article number 2001216, by Mark C. Hersam and co-workers depicts a schematic of battery cathode particles that have been conformally coated with graphene using a scalable Pickering emulsion approach. This strategy provides high electrical conductivities at tenfold lower conductive additive loadings than conventional battery electrodes. The resulting electrodes approach theoretical volumetric and specific capacity limits without tradeoffs in cycle life, rate capability, or active material areal loading.
