Solar Windows: Transparent Luminescent Solar Concentrators for Large‐Area Solar Windows Enabled by Massive Stokes‐Shift Nanocluster Phosphors (Adv. Energy Mater. 9/2013)
Source abstract
Abstract
Luminescent solar concentrators (LSCs) have been regaining interest for building integrated energy harvesting systems. However, the visible coloring of these systems has hindered widespread adoption, particularly in windows. On page 1143, Yimu Zhao and Richard R. Lunt demonstrate transparent LSCs based on exceptional nanocluster blends that exhibit massively down-converted emission with near-unity quantum yield and perfectly tuned absorption and emission throughout the visible spectrum. These devices present new opportunities for non-tinted and scalable solar-windows.
