Abstract

The effects of carbon content, level of applied stress, sustained vs cyclic loading, and low temperature sensitization (LTS) on the intergranular stress corrosion cracking (IGSCC) behavior of welded Type 304 and 304L stainless steel in high temperature high purity oxygenated water was studied. Tests were conducted on welded 4 inch schedule 80 pipe as well as conventional laboratory scale specimens.
