Manganese Spinel: Double the Capacity of Manganese Spinel for Lithium‐Ion Storage by Suppression of Cooperative Jahn–Teller Distortion (Adv. Energy Mater. 34/2020)
Source abstract
Abstract
In article number 2000363 Jiaxin Zheng, Feng Pan and co-workers demonstrate that the capacity of lithium-ion manganese spinel can be doubled by the suppression of the cooperative Jahn-Teller effect. The basic suppression mechanism can be described by the image. When the dragon boat teammates work in a cooperative way just like the cooperative Jahn-Teller effect, the phase transition can be severe and result in the deterioration of the electrochemical performance. However, once the cooperative work is disturbed, like the non-coordination in the dragon boat, the phase transition can be suppressed, which makes it possible for the spinel to access double the capacity.
