Photoelectrochemical Reactions: All‐Surface‐Atomic‐Metal Chalcogenide Sheets for High‐Efficiency Visible‐Light Photoelectrochemical Water Splitting (Adv. Energy Mater. 1/2014)
Source abstract
Abstract
In article 1300611, Shiqiang Wei, Yi Xie, and co-workers describe the first synthesis of freestanding all-surface-atomic SnS sheets via a convenient and scalable liquid exfoliation strategy. The photoelectrode realizes a visible light conversion efficiency of 67.1% at 490 nm, which is much higher than the efficiency of other visible-light-driven water splitting. This is therefore very promising for overcoming the limited supply of fossil fuels and serious environmental problems.
