Abstract

Soft Electrolytes In article number 2101813, Taeeun Yim, Shuai Yuan, Sang-Young Lee, and co-workers present single-ion conducting quasi-solid-state soft electrolytes (SICSE) as a new material strategy for practical semi-solid lithium metal batteries (SSLMBs) that allow cell fabrication and operation under ambient conditions. The SICSE enables the SSLMB full cell to exhibit stable cycling performance, bipolar configurations, high gravimetric/volumetric energy densities, safety, and mechanical foldability, which are difficult to achieve with inorganic solid electrolyte-based solid-state lithium metal batteries.
