Diffusion: Revising the Concept of Pore Hierarchy for Ionic Transport in Carbon Materials for Supercapacitors (Adv. Energy Mater. 24/2018)
Source abstract
Abstract
In article number 1800892, Lars Borchardt, Muslim Dvoyashkin, and co-workers quantify the diffusion of electrolyte ions inside the pore network of carbon supercapacitor electrodes by Pulsed Field Gradient NMR. Thereby, an unexpected diffusion mechanism was revealed that is based on the separation of ions from their solvent shells and the local enrichment of electrolyte species in different pore environments.
