Annealing characteristics and mechanism interpretation of high-performance swaged W-Y2O3 alloy
Source abstract
Abstract
The evolution of the internal microstructure of tungsten (W) alloys during thermal mechanical processing and annealing is complex. This study employs systematic annealing experiments, tensile tests, and microstructural characterization to scientifically analyze a high-performance W-Y 2O 3 (WYO) alloy post-swaging. The aim is to gain a thorough understanding of the microstructural basis of the material`s properties and to explore the relationship between these property changes and the annealing process. We quantify the trends of low-angle grain boundaries under various annealing temperatures, revealing their strong correlation with the ductility of W alloys. Annealing swaged WYO below the recrystallization temperature effectively enhances its mechanical properties. Findings not only provide scientific support for the further application and development of W alloys but also offer valuable insights into how mechanical and thermal treatment processes can optimize material properties.
