In situ observation of filler displacement during tensile deformation of nanosilica-filled natural rubber using field-emission scanning electron microscope
Source abstract
Abstract
Abstract An in situ observation technique of filler displacement during tensile deformation of a nanocomposite was developed by combining a field-emission scanning electron microscope (FE-SEM) with a tensile device. The direct observation was applied to a natural rubber (NR) vulcanizate filled with silica nanofillers. The displacement of the nanofillers was successfully observed while detecting the stress and strain of the vulcanizate simultaneously. The experimental results proved that this technique was suitable and useful for structural studies of nanoparticulate rubber.
