Abstract

Abstract Fe 62.5 Co 6 Ni 7.5 Zr 6 Nb 2 Cu 1 B 15 metallic glass was prepared by one-roll melt-spinning. Some samples were annealed for 1 h at selected temperatures and then submitted to Differential Thermal Analysis to evaluate the effect of the annealing temperature ( T a ) on the glass structure. Experimental results suggest that both Topological and Chemical Short Range Ordering (TSRO and CSRO) start above 300 °C. TSRO actually occurs at T a ⩽ 340 °C. At higher T a CSRO and, in the glass transformation range, glass in glass phase separation do occur, depending on the annealing time and temperature.
