Abstract

Abstract A strong anomaly is predicted in absorption (scattering) of electromagnetic or acoustic waves by tunneling particles in local double-well potentials of glasses at low temperatures (T≲1 K ) when an additional classical wave is applied, which is characterized by certain discrete values of the wave amplitude-to-frequency ratio. This phenomenon is related to the earlier revealed `coherent destruction of tunneling'.
