Abstract

Gold nanoparticle-loaded dual pH- and temperature-responsive dendrimers (carboxy-terminal phenylalanine-modified polyamidoamine dendrimer) were produced as a naked-eye colorimetric sensor with both pH- and temperature-sensitive properties. Because gold nanoparticles loaded in the dendrimers were released and agglomerated under high temperature (≥50OC) and acidic (pH≤5) conditions, the color of the solution changed from brown to gray.
