Time to Celebrate

Abstract
Come together: Editor Claire M. Cobley shares highlights from the last year and some of the ways our editorial teams work together with people both in- and outside the office. This year we will celebrate the 5th anniversary of ChemNanoMat. How time has flown! It has been so rewarding to watch the journal transform from an idea, to a fledgling journal, to an established home for papers at the interface of materials chemistry and nanoscience. I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who has helped the journal through these critical first steps! Without the consistent support of our authors, board members, reviewers, readers, and production team we could not be where we are today. Just as so many people have supported the journal in its early years, our editorial team wants to support researchers in the early stages of their careers. In this spirit, we are establishing our first ever Early Career Advisory Board (ECAB) from the start of 2020. With input from our board members and Asian Chemical Editorial Society (ACES) partners, we have selected an elite group of researchers who exemplify the potential of the next generation of materials chemists. They come from a wide variety of countries and research backgrounds, and we look forward to working with them to ensure that the ACES journals are tuned in to the needs of researchers at the beginning of their independent careers. You can find out more about our new ECAB members in the accompanying editorial in this issue. As announced last year, all three ACES journals, along with Angewandte Chemie and journals in the ChemPubSoc Europe family, are pleased to consider manuscripts previously shared as preprints. It is even possible to transfer your manuscript directly from ChemRxiv to ChemNanoMat to save time. As this route to share research has grown in popularity, questions have come up as to what constitutes a preprint and their place in the publication process. In order to clarify these important issues, this group of journals has put together a short guide to issues important to authors considering posting their work to a preprint server. If you have questions not answered here please do not hesitate to get in touch with the editorial office—we are here to help. These families of journals have also worked together closely over the past year to make it easier for authors to find the information they need before submitting their manuscript or uploading production material to one of our journals. Our Notice to Authors has been given a facelift and harmonized across Wiley-VCH chemistry journals as much as possible. We are also happy to report that the option to include a native-language version of your name (e.g., in Chinese, Japanese, or Korean characters) in your published article, initially piloted by the ACES journals, has now been expanded to Angewandte Chemie and the ChemPubSoc Europe journals as well. All you need to do to take advantage of this feature is to include the appropriate characters in parentheses next to the English version of your name in the final revision. We hope that this will make it easier for researchers to quickly find work by their colleagues and receive the credit they deserve for their own ideas and hard work. I'd like to close by wishing you all a happy and productive 2020. I look forward to many more collaborations with researchers around the world in the year to come! Dr. Claire M. Cobley Editor
