Abstract

A novel method is developed to objectively evaluate the frictional feel of textiles. A polymeric artificial human finger sensor fabricated from polyvinylsiloxane material em ulates the feeling mechanism of the fingers. This polymeric sensor is conveniently converted into a friction sledge that can be used to measure the frictional properties of fabrics.
