Paprispec: a system for monitoring plastic contaminants in pulp.

Efficient inspection techniques are required to ensure that pulp sent to sensitive markets meets quality specifications with regard to plastic contamination. The Paprispec© System has been developed to do this where no suitable means had previously existed. Application: pilot plant trials demonstrated that the Paprispec© System can process representative quantities of pulp and capture plastic specks at a high (>70%) efficiency. Mill trials showed how Paprispec© could be used to provide a daily measurement of plastic contaminant levels.
