The centrifugal compression value
Source abstract
Abstract
A simple pressing test is a research tool for press dewatering studies. In the centrifugal compression value (CCV) test, a pulp pad is placed between a press felt and brass weight and then centrifuged. The centrifugal force drives the weight against the pad and continuously removes the expressed water from the felt. The CCV test can measure the purely mechanical resistance of a pulp to compression. The CCV test is precise, flexible, and independent of many complicating variables. Application : the CCV is a simple pressing test that is a valuable research tool for studying the dewatering of a cell wall.
