Strength development through refining and wet pressing

Thomas Bither, John F. Waterhouse

Abstract

At a given level of sheet densification, it is usually found that refining and wet pressing yield a higher tensile strength than wet pressing alone. An attempt was therefore made to examine this behavior within the framework of linear elastic fracture mechanics.
