Band structure control of organic superconductors by the uniaxial strain method
Source abstract
Abstract
We controlled the crystal and electronic structures of the quasi two-dimensional organic superconductor a-(BEDT-TTF) 2 NH 4 Hg(SCN) 4 by compressing each crystalline axis independently. An x-ray structure analysis and the band calculation showed that the transport results such as the onset of the density-wave state and the enhancement of the superconducting critical temperature were explained in terms of the changes in the two dimensional band structure under the uniaxial compression.
