Abstract

Soluble poly(3-hexyl-2,5-thienylenevmylene) (HPTV) was prepared with 3-hexyl-2,5-thienylenedialdehyde through reductive McMurry reaction. The polymer has been characterized by cyclic voltammetry. UV-Vis and IR-spectrum After doped by FeCl 3 in nitromethane, the polymer film shows conductivity as high as 10 -2 S/cm at room temperature. The solubility of the polymer in common organic solvents, such as chloroform. THF and toluene, will widen its application in electronic devices.
