Vacuum UV of a PPV type polymer and possible PTFE induced orientation
Source abstract
Abstract
Abstract Films of poly(2,5-dinonyl-1,4-phenylene-vinylene-1,4-phenylene-vinylene) spin coated or cast on lithium fluoride disks, either pristine or PTFE coated, where studied by vacuum ultraviolet (VUV) techniques in the 120–350 nm range. Significant spectral differences in the low wavelength band corresponding to the aliphatic C(sp 3 )H(1s) to unoccupied H(1s) transition were observed that could be related to orientation effects induced by the PTFE coating. The local density functional calculated spectrum was used to assign the different transitions and to obtain information of transition dipole moments.
