Langmuir–Blodgett films of Au(dmit)2: a time-domain optimization
Source abstract
Abstract
Abstract The structure of conductive Langmuir–Blodgett (LB) films based on dialkyldimethylammonium-Au(dmit) 2 (2C n -Au(dmit) 2 ) salt is studied introducing a novel film-forming parameter, “waiting time ( T w )”, which is defined as the time between the application of spreading solvent and the onset of compression. The π-A isotherms indicate that the salt coagulates to form crystallites immediately after the application of the solution at the air/water interface, but it tends to spread with increasing T w . The highest conductivities of the 2C 14 -Au(dmit) 2 and 2C 18 -Au(dmit) 2 LB films were obtained in case T w =30 and 90 min, respectively.
