Slit width dependent cooling effect for N2 molecules adsorbed on graphitic nanospace: a grand canonical Monte Carlo simulation
Source abstract
Abstract
Abstract The average kinetic energy of N 2 molecules on slit-shaped graphitic nanospace at 303 K was calculated using grand canonical Monte Carlo simulation as a function of the slit width. The kinetic energy of adsorbed N 2 molecule was close to ambient temperature in the wide slit-shaped nanospace, but the kinetic energy of the adsorbed N 2 molecule was much lower than ambient temperature in narrow slit-shaped nanospace. The kinetic energy of the adsorbed N 2 molecule showed the minimum (52 K) at a system of w=0.61 nm . The pore width of w=0.61 nm provides remarkable cooling effect to the adsorbed N 2 molecule.
