Microgel Rotors: A Light‐Driven Microgel Rotor (Small 46/2019)
Source abstract
Abstract
In article number 1903379, Ahmed Mourran and co-workers fabricate a spiral-shaped microgel rotor that operates in the low Reynolds number regime. Light induces non-equilibrium actuation of the hydrogel ribbon, which provides the necessary non-reciprocal deformations to drive the rotor. The rotational motion is tunable by the modulation of the light.
