Abstract

Carbon-nanotube (CNT) junctions with various terminals are synthesized based on a self-assembling process from two tailored graphene nanoribbons (GNRs) either with perfect or irregular tailoring (see image). The desired functionality of these self-assembled CNT junctions for nanoelectronics is studied using charge-transport simulations. This is desirable for individually controlling both the chirality and shape of CNT junctions, thereby dramatically improving their effectiveness.
