Molten Salt Assisted Ni‐Doped α‐FeOOH on Regulating Spin State for Efficient Oxygen Evolution Reactions (Small 30/2025)
Source abstract
Abstract
Oxygen Evolution Reactions In article number 2501715, Shuo Liu, Zhanxu Yang, and co-workers achieved spin modulation of α-FeOOH through a novel molten salt-assisted Ni doping strategy, demonstrating exceptional oxygen evolution reaction (OER) catalytic activity with an ultralow overpotential of 178 mV@10 mA cm−2. The cover image incorporates volcanic and magma elements to symbolize molten salts, while flowing water streams on the substrate undergo electrolysis under lightning-induced electric fields to generate hydrogen and oxygen. The spin modulation α-FeOOH serves as the catalytic substrate providing reactive interfaces. The “fire-man” and “water-man” motifs metaphorically represent the energy carriers of magma and water streams, respectively. synergistically driving the OER process through this innovative spin manipulation system.
