Effect of Size Tuning of Hexagonal SnS2 Nanosheet on the Efficiency of Photocatalytic Degradation Processes (Small 48/2024)
Source abstract
Abstract
Photocatalytic Degradation Processes Smaller-sized hexagonal SnS2 nanosheets exhibit a higher density of surface sulfur vacancies compared to their larger counterparts. These vacancies play a critical role in facilitating the generation of photogenerated electrons, significantly enhancing the photocatalytic performance. This enhanced activity is demonstrated in the efficient degradation of methyl orange dye and the reduction of hexavalent chromium (Cr(VI)) under visible light. The findings highlight the importance of size control in SnS2 nanosheets for optimizing surface defects and improving their photocatalytic properties for environmental remediation.
