Abstract
This paper presents a software, ELLIPSE-COMP-2009, for the simulation and the control of ellipsoidal mandrels winding in the manufacturing of composite structures. The winding machine is controlled by a numerical-control unit. The deposit point of the fibre on the mandrel follows the geodesic lines to optimise the consumption of the ribbon and avoid fibres sliding over the mandrel.
