Abstract

The influence of the selection of a conventional point on a flat flaw of circular segmental shape on its directivity characteristic as a reflector is studied. The independence of the numerical value of this characteristic at a constant azimuthal angle of direction to the reflection point is shown. Examples of calculations of the directivity characteristic for a segmental reflector are presented. Recommendations for selecting the conventional reflection point and the points of emission and reception for transducers with piezoelectric plates whose shapes differ from typical ones are given.
