Abstract

The requirements for the direction and topography of a magnetizing field are different in Russian and European documents. The topography of the magnetic field in a solenoid is studied and the possibility to detect cracks with different configurations is shown. The distributions of the normal and tangential components of the magnetic-field intensity are given.
