Abstract

Corner re ectors shaped as notches, which are widely used in Russia in tuning up ultrasonic aw detectors, do not allow fine tuning of the sensitivity of these instruments. A re ector in the form of a two-faced corner is suggested as an alternative. Since this issue deserves a broad-based discussion, these materials were presented at the 17th Conference on Ultrasonic Testing of Metallic Structures held on June 6–8, 2001, in St. Petersburg.
