Nonlinear elastic properties of D16 aluminum alloy and KCh35-10 cast iron
Source abstract
Abstract
The paper describes a computer-driven facility for measuring elastic parameters of metals over a wide range of strain, up to the strain of plastic deformation, by various techniques. Measurements of linear and nonlinear properties of structural materials, namely, D16 aluminum alloy and KCh35-10 cast iron, by static and quasi-static methods are given. The effect of thermal processing (annealing) on the elastic properties of KCh35-10 cast iron has been investigated. The third-order elasticity coefficients are more susceptible to thermal processing, whereas the second-order moduli change insignificantly.
