Abstract

The paper discusses the reasons for developing methods and instruments for testing electric steels in sheets or in configurations whose shapes and dimensions are more similar to those of blanks that are used in fabricating magnetic conductors of electric motors, generators, transformers, and other products of electric industry. Some results of the discussion about selection of magnetic parameters for steel tests and conditions for reproducibility of measurements are considered. Specific designs of instruments for testing sheet steels developed by this time are discussed.
