The determination of mechanical stresses using Rayleigh surface waves excited by a magnetoacoustic transducer
Source abstract
Abstract
The possibility of testing mechanical stresses using surface waves that are excited and received with an electromagnetic-acoustic transducer (EMAT) was analyzed. It is shown that to realize the acoustoelasticity algorithm, it is possible to apply the zero-crossing method to signals, even in the case of narrow-band pulses with a smooth leading edge. An estimate of the error in the measurement of elastic-wave delays (propagation times) is presented.
