The optical absorption coefficient of amorphous polyethylene in the region 450–725 nm
Source abstract
Abstract
The optical absorption coefficient of amorphous polyethylene sheets was measured in the wavelength range 450–725 nm using a monomode ring dye laser. The incident laser power was 100 mW and the single sheet thickness used was 0·039 mm. The measured value of the absorption coefficient was 103·85 cm−1 and is substantially constant over the wavelength range used.
