Abstract

An ultra-sensitive bimetallic surface plasmon resonance biosensor has been proposed for trace of malaria disease at different stages. The structure of device is based on Kretschmann configuration and consist of several layers such as BK7 prism, silver (Ag) metal layer, zinc telluride (ZnTe), and lead titanate (PbTiO3). The performance of proposed sensors is based on angular interrogation method. This sensor has the capability of detection of various stages of malaria disease and covers a wide range of refractive index (RI) from 1.370 to 1.410 for which optimize angular sensitivity 253°/RIU obtained. The malaria infection has several stages such as ring stage, trophozoite stage, and schizont stage. The refractive indexes 1.396, 1.381, and 1.371 are analyzed and corresponding angular sensitivity are 364°/RIU, 296°/RIU, and 267°/RIU respectively. The proposed SPR sensors have excellent performance for ring stage detection and detect various cancerous cells. MATLAB 2017b software is used for simulation study.
