Skyrmion Crystals in Frustrated Shastry–Sutherland Magnets
Source abstract
Abstract
The skyrmion lattice phase and antiferromagnetic skyrmion 2q phase are unveiled theoretically in frustrated Shastry–Sutherland model with the interfacial Dzyaloshinskii–Moriya interaction which may be induced in the interface between heavy metal and magnet. First, the introduced exchange frustration enhances the effect of the Dzyaloshinskii–Moriya interaction, which not only enlarges the magnetic field region with the skyrmion lattice phase but also increases the density of the skyrmions. Second, the stabilization of the antiferromagnetic skyrmion phase is closely dependent on the Dzyaloshinskii–Moriya and exchange interactions. Thus, the work by Minghui Qin and co-workers in article number 1900161 provides an important guidance for finding skyrmion crystals in frustrated magnets.
