Design of a Hybrid Structure for Controlling Infrared Characteristic Based on Photonic Crystals with Active Thermal Management
Source abstract
Abstract
Infrared Signature Tuning In article number 2200374, Qing Ai and co-workers propose and numerically investigate a hybrid structure for controlling the infrared (IR) characteristic combining a wavelength selective emitter, microchannel heat exchanger, and thermal barrier coating. The design can tune the surface infrared signature by active thermal management. The results indicates that the IR signal intensity of an object can be significantly reduced by simultaneously controlling the surface emittance and surface temperature.
