Magnetic phases of the triangular Kondo lattice
Source abstract
Abstract
The Kondo lattice model (KLM) on the 2-dimensional triangular lattice is studied by bond fermion theory. Three-sublattice N\'eel order (AF) and partial Kondo screening (PKS) are considered as possible phases of the model. We find that near half filling and at moderate interaction strength, AF and PKS are energetically close and favored compared to the paramagnetic phase. We discuss the quasiparticle band structure and Fermi surface of the different phases. As is the case for the KLM on the square lattice, both the AF and the PKS phase can be further subdivided into phases with the same symmetry, but different Fermi surface topology.
