Abstract

Exploration of high-efficiency water oxidation electrocatalysts using low-cost functional materials is a current challenge. Herein, a new strategy has been investigated for developing oxygen evolution reaction (OER) electrocatalysts by depositing crystalline nanowire arrays of Mn13-clusters (Mn13-NS) on Ni foam (NF). The resulting Mn13-NS/NF can further incorporate ultrasmall Fe(III) dopants to improve OER activity that exhibits a low overpotential of 357 mV and an exceptional Tafel plot slope of 41 mV dec–1 under strongly alkaline conditions.
