Abstract

Abstract In this letter we study the crumpled state observed in metallic closed surfaces submitted to a rapid variation in temperature. Scaling laws for the crumpled volume and the average size are obtained and critical exponents are found. The results are compared with those obtained for crumpled structures at equilibrium.
