Direct observation of misfit dislocations at the interface between a decagonal quasicrystal and its epitaxial crystalline layers

Abstract
Abstract Misfit dislocations at the interface between Al65Cu20Co15 and Al63Cu20CO15Si3 decagonal quasicrystals and their epitaxial crystalline layers have been observed by transmission electron microscopy. Conventional contrast experiments and high-resolution electron microscopy show that the interface dislocations are in the epitaxial crystalline layer with the B2 structure.
