Polyaniline/BaTiO3/MoS2 Hybrid Nanocomposites for High-Frequency EMI Shielding Applications
Source abstract
Abstract
The Electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding effectiveness for PANI/BaTiO 3 /MoS 2 hybrid nanocomposites was assessed in the X-band. A foundational composite of PANI with 10 wt % BaTiO 3 (PB) demonstrated a shielding effectiveness (SE) of ∼21 dB at a thickness of 1 mm. Adding 10 wt % MoS 2 (PBM-1) increased SE to ∼30 dB. Increasing thickness to 1.5 mm (PBM-2) and 2.5 mm (PBM-3) further improved SE to ∼37 and ∼45 dB, respectively. Dielectric analysis showed strong interfacial polarization and high dielectric loss around 11.5 GHz. Power coefficient data confirmed absorption-dominated shielding with low transmission and high absorption. The combination of MoS 2 and BaTiO 3 in a PANI matrix, along with optimized thickness, significantly enhances EMI shielding, making the composites suitable for high-frequency applications.
