Abstract

In this work, it is proposed to improve the optical properties of CsPbBr 3 quantum dots by doping with In 3+ ions. The results show that In 3+ -doped CsPbBr 3 quantum dots exhibit enhanced emission and better stability than that of pristine quantum dots, which is mainly attributed to the fact that the incorporation of In 3+ reduces the defects in CsPbBr 3 quantum dots and enhances the Pb–Br interaction of [PbBr 6 ] 4– octahedra. The mechanisms responsible for the improved performance were investigated by ultrafast femtosecond transient absorption, time-resolved, and steady-state photoluminescence spectroscopy. Owing to the improved optical properties of In 3+ -doped CsPbBr 3 QDs, they have been used as the green light emitters in the fabrication of white light-emitting diodes (LEDs) with a wide color gamut of 127% of the National Television Standards Committee (NTSC) standard, a luminance of 5.3 × 10 6 cd m –2, and a luminance efficiency of 23.7 lm W –1 .
