Abstract
Front cover image: Despite considerable efforts have been devoted toward improving the electrochemical performance of Room-temperature sodium-sulfur (RT/Na-S) batteries, the diffusion of polysulfides and sluggish kinetics are still major challenges for their application. In article number: 10.1002/cey2.203, Xinwen Peng et al. design a lightweight, porous N,S-codoped cellulose nanofiber-derived carbon aerogel as a multifunctional separator for RT/Na-S batteries, which reveals superior electrochemical performance. The three-dimensional interconnected network of carbon aerogel provides hierarchical porous structures, high electronic conductivity, and favorable N,S codoping, thus suppressing the shuttle effect and boosting redox kinetics of soluble sodium polysulfides.
