Abstract
Back cover image: Nitrates have been regarded as eff ective electrolyte additives in stabilizing lithium (Li) metal anode. However, they possess ultralow solubility in widely used carbonate electrolytes, which inhibits their practical application. In article number 10.1002/cey2.169, Yongming Sun and co-workers report a novel “Salt-in-Metal” composite electrode featuring nitrate uniformly embedded in metallic Li matrix via a facile mechanical kneading approach, which exhibits improved Coulombic effi ciency and prolonged cycle life. Also, the mechanism behind is investigated. This work presents an alternative strategy in off setting the low solubility issue of electrolyte additives for high-energy-density Li-metal batteries (LMBs).
