High short-circuit current in PTB7-Th:ITIC organic solar cells induced by pulsed laser deposited MoO 3 layer
Source abstract
Abstract
Abstract The paper reports a high short-circuit current density of 43.6 mA cm −2 obtained in an organic solar cell (OSC) that has a device structure of indium-doped tin oxide/ZnO/PTB7-Th:ITIC/MoO 3 /Ag. The novel aspect of this work is that the MoO 3 layers were prepared using pulsed laser deposition. The experimental data analysis indicates that the observed increase is specifically associated with the pulsed laser deposited MoO 3 layers. Although the exact mechanisms responsible for such huge increase are yet to be identified, the result of this work shows that a significantly higher short-circuit current can be obtained in OSCs, offering a potential pathway for further improving the power conversion efficiency of OSCs.
