Abstract

In the current work, Lead Telluride (PbTe) thin films were grown on stainless steel and copper substrate two electrode electrodeposition technique. Orthorhombic structure of PbTe was determined by x-ray diffraction (XRD) on both substrates. The smooth and non- uniform surface morphology of PbTe film with a crack free appearance was observed on the substrate by SEM micrograph. Presence of orthorhombic crystalline phase of PbTe film was observed by Raman spectra of the synthesized film. Presence of different stretching and bending modes in deposited PbTe film on stainless steel and copper substrate are observed by Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR). Cyclic voltammetry at various scan rates gives oxidation and reduction peak potential of the Pb2+ and HTeO2+ was study. PbTe film on stainless steel and copper shows hydrophilic nature shown by the contact angle measurements.
