Abstract

In this paper we report on the structural and superconducting properties of epitaxial Ba(Fe1−xNix)2As2 thin films with x = 0.035, 0.05, and 0.08 grown by pulsed laser deposition on CaF2. The superconducting transition temperatures are 20.9 K, 21.3 K, and 10.8 K for the nominal nickel concentrations x = 0.035, 0.05, and 0.08, respectively. A large contribution of the electron-electron interaction to the scattering processes is observed. The critical fields for Ba(Fe1−xNix)2As2 with x = 0.035 and 0.05 are higher than for single crystals and there is no noticeable contribution from the spin–orbit interaction to the pair breaking.
