Abstract

In order to find new gas-sensing materials with good performance, Bi2Fe4O9 nanosheets were prepared via hydrothermal synthesis, XRD and SEM were used to characterize the phase composition and morphology of the samples. The Bi2Fe4O9 samples were composed of nanosheets, and the thickness of the nanosheets was about 30 nm. The Bi2Fe4O9-based sensor shows selectivity, sensitivity, fast response behavior to ozone. The response of Bi2Fe4O9 sensor to 100 ppm ozone was 7.5, and the sensor's optimum operating temperature was 260 °C. The response of Bi2Fe4O9 sensor is very low to other gas such as alcohols. The Bi2Fe4O9 nanosheets could become a potential candidate for selective gas sensors.
